01/15/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
01/15/17 11:27 Addonis is an approx. 8 year old Rottweiler mix that was surrendered to ACC due to a bite incident, as per the owner he was laying on the couch next to an adult who was playing toy cars with a child when Addonis bit him on the left leg and arm. As per the finder the bite was unprovoked and showed no warning ques that it was going to happen. She found Addonis approx. 3 weeks ago and brought him home, she stated that Addonis was very nervous and tense and seemed very unsure of his surroundings. During intake Addonis was lip licking and visibly shaking, staff did not attempt to collar him and used a long scanner to scan for a microchip. When entering a room with other dogs Addonis became extremley tense and began to alligator roll before attempting to bite staff handling him.

ENERGY LEVEL: RECOMMENDATIONS: Experience (Suitable for an adopter with a previous amount of dog experience) _X_No children (under 13) (See known bite history; due to the limited information regarding details surrounding the bite in conjunction with the fearful behavior displayed, we believe Addonis may be best set up to succeed in an adult-home only at this time. A period of decompression is recommended to allow Addonis to acclimate at his own pace, force-free reward based training is advised when introducing and exposing Addonis to new and unfamiliar situations.) Potential challenges: _X_Fearful/potential for defensive aggression (Addonis has been observed to display fearful behavior during his stay at our care centers, at times avoiding interaction and shying away from direct touch. Addonis may startle easily and is made uncomfortable by loud noises and sudden movement. He displays proper warning signals as well as increasing distance from anything that may present a threat. We cannot be certain if any other behavior is suppressed as a result of his environment. A period of decompression is advised before introduction or exposure to new and unfamiliar situations. Force-free, reward based training is advised.)
