03/14/16 17:57 BASIC INFORMATION Ace is a brown brindle with white American Staffordshire that is 1 year old. Owner received Ace as a small puppy just weeks old. Ever since then he has been his loyal companion. Owner painfully is surrendering Ace due to personal problems. Ace has no known illness. SOCIALIZATION Ace has been around toddler and teen. He is very excitable and playful around them. He needs to be monitored around smaller children due to his excitement (bumps them unintentionally). Ace jumps and wags his tails when stranger are around. His is playful and sociable around family members. He has never been introduced to other cats. However he enjoys the company of other dogs. He plays chase and play bows. BEHAVIOR Ace is tolerant of most handling. He enjoys being bathed, he gets his nails trimmed by the vet and is fine being restrained. Anyone can place there hand in his food bowl while eating, he also allows for toy or rawhides to be removed from his mouth. Ace has not fully house trained. He sometimes has accidence in the house. He is friendly towards stranger and other dogs. FOR NEW FAMILIES TO KNOW Ace is described as playful, excitable & affectionate. Ace favorite toys are tennis balls and squeak toys. He also enjoys playing outside in a park and running for hours. He enjoys unlimited Health extension dry or wet dog food. He knows the commands sit & stay. Ace has a high energy level and need a lot of exercise. At times he may pull hard on the leash. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE During intake Ace was friendly and sociable. He approached counselor with a wagging tail & loose body. He allowed being collar, scanned and photographed.

Ace previously lived with 1 adult and has been around a toddler and a teenager. The owner stated Ace is very excitable and playful around the children, but needs to be monitored around smaller children due to his excitement (bumps them unintentionally). The owner mentioned Ace is not fully house trained and has a high activity level. The owner describes Ace as playful, excitable and affectionate. At intake it was reported Ace was friendly and social, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Ace came into the assessment room excitable, he was friendly and playful towards the assessor. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Ace was easily aroused becomes vocal, a bit tense but quickly de-escalates once the game end during the tag interaction and during the resources portion of the assessment Ace was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Due to some concerns stated from the previous owner Ace should be monitored around smaller children due to him being very excitable and also becoming aroused on tag item. The behavior department feels he can be suitable for an experience adopter with no young children. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog gets easily aroused becomes vocal, a bit tense and quickly de-escalates once the game end. Squeeze 1: 2. Dog quickly pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:2. Dog quickly pulls back his paw. Toy 1: 2. Dog takes toy away, keeps a firm hold. His body is between you and the toy, and he is loose and wiggly. No growling or stiffness. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Ace approaches and greets with a neutral body. He becomes a little sexually motivated and attempts to mount but does respond to human interruptions.
