Subjective / Observed Behavior – hard barking and lunging in kennel. Objective: sedated exam performed. BCS 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted Oral Exam: dc 1/5; pd 1/5. PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: intact male. testicles smooth and symmetrical. MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat; self inflicted puncture wound along the left ventral labia, bleeding. no pocketing . CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities. Rectal: grossly normal
Assessment: dental calculus periodontal disease intact male. wound along L ventral labia
Prognosis: fair Plan: flushed and probed wound with chlorhexidine solution, no pocketing. await behavioral assessment. trazodone 300mg PO q12h SURGERY: Okay for surgery
