08/07/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/07/16 13:19 Abu is a young male mixed breed dog, possibly a Beagle / Yorkie mix. His finder found him tethered to a gate in front of her home. She cared for him for 3 days but has allergies and can’t keep him. Abu was timid at first but very affectionate and tolerant with his finder and her 8 year old daughter. He followed them everywhere and cuddled in their laps. He stayed inside and ate Purina dry food. He slept in the basement and pottied outside only. Abu had a low, tense body but was tolerant while I pet him, picked him up, scanned him (-), collared him, and positioned him for pictures. Each time I stooped down, he cuddled up against me. While I sat at the computer, he sat against my feet and stood up with his paws in my lap. He was very quiet.

08/10/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Abu was difficult to remove from his kennel showing teeth, growling and lunges at the rope. He did not show any social behavior. Once he was out of the kennel he walks with a fearful body language. Abu was growling and expose his front teeth, grabbing at the leash and spinning. The behavior team decided to place him back in his kennel he was difficult to handle. Due to the behavior demonstrated in the shelter the behavior department believes that Abu is not an appropriate candidate for SAFER. Playgroup notes: When off leash with other dogs, Abu is nervous in the pen and only offers one brief sniff before begining to avoid interaction.
