BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: EXPERIENCE (suitable for an adopter with some previous dog experience, especially with the behaviors outlined below)
Behavior Asilomar: TM – Treatable-Manageable
Potential challenges: : House soiling,Anxiety
Potential challenges comments:: Sparky’s reported to have accidents in the home when not walked for the day. His previous owner notes Sparky is kept in a crate during the day. He will need guidance to learn where to eliminate in his new home. We recommend crate training, (the crate must be made positive and never used as a punishment), frequent walks, rewards for eliminating outside (treats, toys, games), consistent feeding schedule, and careful monitoring when inside. Accidents should never be punished as it can damage the human-dog relationship and is likely to make the problem worse.
