Mamba previously lived with adults and children ages 3 through 15 years old. The owner stated Mamba is relaxed, playful, gentle and exuberantly towards the children, strangers and adults. The owner describes Mamba as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, excitable and anxious. The owner mentioned Mamba is not house trained, has a high activity level and when home alone she will chew on shoes and get into the garbage. At intake it was reported Mamba was calm and allowed all handling. During SAFER Mamba came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, she was friendly, playful and affectionate towards the assessor. She allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Mamba was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Mamba was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Mamba is reported to be chewing on shoes and getting into the garbage when left alone for long periods, so we advise future adopters to make sure to provide mentally and physically stimulating, appropriate chew toys to keep Mamba occupied when left alone. The behavior department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter and we recommend shoes are put away in the house hold. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted.
