Due to the high levels of fear displayed in the care center, Naomi Campbell is not considered to be an appropriate candidate for an assessment at this time.
Naomi Campbell was brought in as a stray so her behavior around other dogs is unknown.
11/05- 11/06: When off leash at the Care Center, Naomi Campbell avoids greeting any of the other small male and female dogs. She will offer hard corrections if they approach her– snap, lunge, bark.
Date of intake: 4-Nov-2017
ENERGY LEVEL: We cannot be certain of her behavior in a new home environment, though recommend daily mental and physical stimulation as an outlet to direct her energy.
BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: NEW HOPE ONLY
TM – Treatable-Manageable
Recommendations: No children (under 13)
Place with a New Hope partner
_X_Place with a New Hope partner: Naomi Campbell has not acclimated well to the kennel environment and has allowed only minimal handling since intake. We recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based) and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.
Fearful/potential for defensive aggression
Potential challenges comments:
_X_Fearful/potential for defensive aggression: Naomi Campbell has displayed fearful behavior in shelter, she displays no social behavior towards handlers and attempts to increase distance and avoid contact. Because she is so uncomfortable, Naomi Campbell does not tolerate any form of human-touch and has attempted to snap upon direct contact.
