03/23/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I call him General Michael as he looks so serious. Michael is peaceful in his kennel and comes right away to his door when he sees me. He tail is wagging and his eyes look right into mine. His vibrant red coat is quite attractive and his beary face calls for petting. Michael walks beautifully on the leash and eliminates right away as we leave the building. He marks a little his territory, sniffs a lot his surroundings, trying to make sense of a drastic change in his life. Other dogs are met on the way, big and small. Michael seems fine with them. Free in a pen, Michael of course examines carefully the premises, comes back at times to me, accepts caresses and even sits on command for treats that he takes politely from my hand. He is quite good looking, young at three years of age and clad in a lush and silky foxy coat. He looks a bit wary at times but it is quite understandable. Although I barely know him, I like Michael and feel comfortable with him. Give us a little bit more time and I bet we will be pals. He seems like a trustworthy guy and the type who has the fiber to make a solid and faithful forever best friend. Michael was found as a stray. Come and meet him soon at the Manhattan Care Center.
