DVM Intake Exam; Estimated age:10y; Microchip noted on Intake?n; History :stray; Subjective:constant honking cough with any touching, when not coughing lungs sound ok; Observed Behavior -threatens to bite; Objective ; T =; P =; R =; BCS; EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted; Oral Exam:heavy dental tartar; PLN: No enlargements noted; H/L: NSR, 3/6 murmur, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic; ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated; U/G:SS seen; MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat; CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities; Assessment: collapsing trachea, heart murmur; Prognosis:fair; Plan:monitor for resp distress. recc echocardiogram. consider bronchodilators/cough suppressants once placed.
radiographs: no pulmonary edema, trachea not excessively compressed. possible cardiomegaly but no overt cardiac disease
