Douggie is a male Chihuahua who was surrendered due to his previous owner moving to a place where animals are not allowed.
Around strangers Douggie is friendly, outgoing and plays gently with adults. Douggie has been around children ages 3 and up, around them Douggie is relaxed and plays gently with them. Douggie has lived with other dogs and was friendly with them. Douggie has never been around cats so it is unknown how Douggie will react to being around them.
Douggie has never bitten another person or animal and is anxious when left alone. Douggie is nervous around loud sounds. Douggie is friendly when someone touches his food or bowl while he is eating, takes a treat away, takes a toy away, pushes /pulls him off of the furniture, gives him a bath, trims his nails, brushes his coat or holds/restrains him. If an unfamiliar person approaches Douggie’s family or home Douggie will be friendly toward them.
FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW
Douggie is described as friendly and anxious with a medium activity level. When at home Douggie will stay in the same room as his owners and likes to play with chew toys. Douggie was kept indoors only and was fed wet food twice a day. Douggie is mostly house trained and has accident a few times a week. Douggie knows the commands sit and come. For exercise Douggie will go on slow walks and doesn’t pull on the leash. Douggie will go to the bathroom on the grass and wee wee pads.
According to Douggie’s previous owner, Douggie has lived with other dogs and was friendly with them.
6/30: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Douggie greets appropriately and wanders in the pen in a group of male and female dogs.
