Hello, my name is Cosette. My animal id is #18484. I am a female white dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 3 years old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 17-Jan-2018.
Cosette is at risk for medical reasons, having been diagnosed with Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex, which is contagious to other dogs. Behaviorally, we suggest that Cosette would be best suited to an experienced dog home.
Let’s get to know each other a bit more…
A volunteer writes: According to Mr. Webster, a Cossette is defined as a strip or a slice, and our little girl is so tiny, that certainly could describe her. And, of course, my favorite character Cosette from Les Miserables, is adopted by a wonderful family and lives happily ever after. We like that ending, and that’s what we wish for our sweet slip of a girl. Ask her what her favorite thing to do is and she’ll not only tell you, she’ll show you–that cuddling and kissing rank right up there, probably even before a treat! And treats….she sits before being asked and takes them super gently. No interest in a ball or a toy as of this writing, it’s all about treats and cuddles, cuddles and treats. She’s also good on leash, seems to be housetrained, is very quiet and easy. When our time together was over, she hopped right back into her kennel, no muss no fuss, turned around with a wag of her tail to our ‘see you later, Cosette’. She’s at that perfect age, over any puppy crazies she may have had, and ready to spend her time cuddling with her new person. It doesn’t get better than that!
My medical notes are…
Weight: 44.6 lbs
