12/16/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
12/16/16 12:35 Nadya A1099851 is a 2yr old female tan and white AMPBT mix that was found with possibly her son/siblling Neville A1099852 in a hallway building in the Bronx earlier today. Officers were called to remove them. They stated Neville and Nadya were friendly and allowed them to bring them to our BXAC. During intake Nadya had a super loose, wiggly body and allowed all handling. She allowed to be scanned (-), collared and taken pictures of. Nadya took treats eagerly but gently and was then walked to the transport van to be driven to our MACC location.

01/09/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Hey there new human friend! Cloe’s the name and snuggling is my game. You wanna play? I specialize in stand-up hugs, but I’m also skilled in the art of lap warming, side-leaning and of course, face kissing, and I’d be more than happy to share my secrets with you if you visit. We could go for a walk or run or play fetch or share some treats and I like all those things but what I’d really really love is to crawl onto your lap and just cuddle together. As you can see, I’m a good-looking gal but before I came to the Care Center I wasn’t getting enough to eat so I’m going to be even softer and smushier once I’ve gained a little weight and because I’m already a grown-up I’ll always be the perfect size for sitting on your knee. My last home may not have been luxurious but I know a little something about family life and if you give me a real dog bed to curl up in I will make the most of it, believe me. I did well in my behavior assessment but I do prefer humans to other dogs so I’m looking for a place where I can be the Queen of the castle and not have to share the spotlight with anyone but my peeps. So how about it…you, me, snuggles on the sofa? I’ll be right here, wagging my tail and waiting on a visit. See you soon! Cloe’s video refers to her former name Nadya. A volunteer writes: Cloe was so excited that she was going to go for a walk when I went to open her cage. When we got outside, she was so happy to be walking and smelling the fresh air and all the new smells after the fallen snow. A good girl on her walk. When I brought Cloe back to the shelter and put her back in her cage, she was so sweet to me. Almost thanking me for walking her with her happy eyes. I scratched behind her ears and she plopped down next to my leg tapping her back leg. It was like she was telling me to come in and cuddle with her in the cage. It was so adorable.

DOG-DOG INTERACTION ASSESSMENT: Proximity Sensitive: These dogs have had a poor history of social experience with other dogs or could be extremely fearful in the shelter environment. They are socially shy and may exhibit fearful body posturing (tucked tail, head low, snarling etc), defensive posturing (lunging, barking, snarling etc.) or physically avoid/ignore other dogs. They will emit warning signals to the other dog to back away but if they are forced to interact they may snap. PLAYGROUP: Cloe has been tense and uncomfortable with other dogs in the care center. At this time, the behavior department feels that Cloe would be most comfortable as the only resident dog. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 12/16/16 During her initial medical exam Cloe allowed all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: RECOMMENDATIONS: Experience (Suitable for an adopter with a previous amount of dog experience) _x_Single-pet home (See playgroup) _x_Recommend no dog parks (See playgroup) Potential Challenges: _X_Barrier reactivity
