BELINA – 12966
Gone - 11-30-2017 Manhattan
Hello, my name is Belina. My animal id is #12966. I am a desexed female gray dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years 1 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 18-Nov-2017.
Let’s get to know each other a bit more…
A volunteer writes: Shy on our first date, that lasted about 10 minutes, and then we were good friends. I had the toys and the treats, of course, and Miss Belina is smart enough to have figured that out quickly. She’s a gorgeous girl with an easy tail wag and twinkling eyes. She’s good on the leash, certainly a pleasure after a long day. Off leash, we played with toys and balls, Belina getting the zoomies at one point, and almost somersaulting over a toy when she came to a screeching stop. Try not laughing at that! I invited her up on the bench to sit next to me, but she politely refused, perhaps remnants of not being allowed on furniture where she lived before? Showing off her sit and shake paw, she takes her reward treats gently, does some play bowing to me, and runs off to play some more. When our time together was over she hopped right back into her kennel and settled down with my promise to her of finding her a new family quickly. Ask to meet her today. A volunteer updates: Fast forward from our first date: Belina has settled into the routine, and I see her out with staff and volunteers frequently. “I LOVE Belina”, cooed one staff person. She loves to play, chasing toys, playing tug, running to check out other dogs as they come into the yard, her tail wagging in greeting. Showing off her sit when I ask, she shakes both paws, sweetly takes her reward treat and then looks up, inviting me to join in more play. A fashionista, looking splendid in whatever coat or neck piece she wears, Belina seems to enjoy being bundled up against the cold. My volunteer dictionary spells fabulous B E L I N A , so be sure to come meet her when you visit.
