How is this something that’s okay? There was no medical exam and no Behavior assessment done? How did they decide that this dog deserved to die? So heartbreaking

It is outrageous and uncalled for. Another silent kill along with murders that weren’t justified. RIP Koala

This guy was never on the list. Something is fishy- a bite hold is 10 days… but his “due out” day was just 3 days… and then they kept him 10 days after his “due out day”… and he never made any list, super urgent, At-risk or otherwise.

I can’t believe this….another puppy killed that we knew nothing about and wasn’t even given a chance. I don’t understand NYCACC’s guideline was just killing but I do know too many are silent kills and that needs to change. Please New Yorkers demand answers! Run free sweet pup, no one can hurt you now. 😢💔

Why does he have 2 names if this was his first “visit” at the care center? We need to demand an explanation about his death.

He was a DOH dog which means the shelter has no say over what happens to him. Depending on the situation regarding the bite, the DOH either releases the pet for rescue/adoption or gives the order to euthanize. Many times there is no information on a DOH pet who isn’t given a reprieve. That’s also why behavior assessments aren’t done. When this happens, it’s not the shelter’s fault and people need to direct their outrage towards the DOH. Write their city council rep, call them, or write directly to the DOH. Better yet, attend one of the quarterly public ACC meetings and get signed up to speak.

They just take in a puppy and decide to kill him. Seriously, this is a system beyond broken. RIP Angel. Heartbreaking beyond any words. RIP puppy.
